Xin graduated from Cornell University’s B.Arch program in 2021, with a minor in philosophy. She has had professional experience at Herzog & de Meuron’s New York office, contributing to design and construction phases of important institutional projects such as Calder Gardens in Philadelphia, the Memphis Art Museum, and Amherst College; as well as housing and civic work at the concept and design stages. Through these experiences, she developed a strong sensibility for materiality and detail, and a lasting interest in how space and materials shape people’s wellness, attention, and creative life.
Jia studied architecture at Yale University, where she received her M.Arch in 2023, following her B.Arch from Cornell University in 2021. She has worked at Sherman Architects in Brooklyn on single- and multi-family residential renovation projects throughout New York City. Her work is shaped by an interest in domestic space as an active participant in daily life—how rooms, thresholds, and material choices support human agency, adaptation, and lived rituals over time.
